I have actually used Notta.
I actually created an account with Notta, uploaded an audio file, and tried the transcription function.
Account creation and initial setup
You can easily create an account with your Google account. When you create an account, you will be asked about your purpose of use, occupation, job title, etc. You can skip this step if you choose to do so. You can skip this step if you choose to do so.

A pop-up window will appear, offering an invitation to the Premium Plan, but since the Premium Plan is not used this time, press the X button in the upper right corner of the pop-up window to close it.

Upload and translate audio files
You will be taken to the administration screen, where you will hit the upload button, this time to transcribe from the recorded audio. For the free plan, you can use up to 120 minutes per month.

This time, we will upload a longer audio file of just under 25 minutes as a test.
You can optionally select speaker identification. In this case, select 2 since there are two speakers.

Transcription completed in less than 2 minutes for an audio file of less than 25 minutes
Uploading of the audio file was completed in about 30 seconds, and then transcription began.

Transcription took less than two minutes.
Check out the actual transcription results…
Here is the actual transcribed text.
A summary is displayed on the left, and an audio file can be played at the bottom of the screen.
Looking at the key transcription results (Japanese version), filler words such as “maa”, “ano maa”, and “eh” are also transcribed as they are. Also, the part “the teacher above is coming” is transcribed as “Ueno-sensei is coming. No system is perfect, but the transcription accuracy is not 100%.

Also, with the free plan, you can only see up to 3 minutes of transcription results. As shown in the figure below, transcription results longer than 3 minutes are blurred.
Continued operation is practically difficult with free use, forcing the user to subscribe to a premium plan.

Improvements and Disadvantages of Notta
Even filler words are transcribed. No filtering function.
- Although it depends on the quality of the audio, the accuracy of the transcription is still at a level that needs to be reworked, and even filler words such as “um,” “uh,” “um,” and “yes” are transcribed, so it is troublesome to have to delete them each time manually.
Character recognition accuracy is not perfect.
- Transcriptions of words that were registered but not heard are often incoherent, so they must be spoken with careful attention to pronunciation, etc.
- While some accuracy is maintained in meetings with one person in each of the connected rooms, transcription accuracy is reduced in meetings where there are multiple people in one room and remote participants.
Transcribing a long audio file takes several minutes.
- For hour-long audio files, it often takes more than 4 minutes to transcribe, so you have to wait until the transcription is complete.
Proposed use of “Interview AI” to compensate for disadvantages
While Notta has strengths in speed and multilingual support, it has the following limitations
- Filler words and redundant expressions remain.
- Sentence structure does not naturally reflect the intent and relationship of the statement
- Long transcription takes time to upload the audio file and transcribe it.
Interview AI” can compensate for these factors.
Interview AI allows you to transcribe audio recordings in 15 seconds and automatically correct the transcription results to a natural conversational style. All you need to do is upload your audio file, and it will be transcribed and automatically corrected to a natural conversational style.
The free plan also shows all transcription results up to 30 minutes.

You can experience the interview AI here.
Summary: Use Notta, but supplement issues with interview AI
Notta is a very good meeting recording tool based on recording and transcription. However, it is limited in its ability to provide high-quality output, including text formatting, such as “high-speed transcription of long audio files,” “natural Japanese meeting minutes,” and “readable interview articles.
As an option to compensate for this weakness, the introduction of interview AI, in combination with the introduction of interview AI, will greatly streamline the process of creating and editing materials after the meeting.
If you want a one-stop shop for recording, transcribing, editing, and converting to articles, please consider using Notta and Interview AI together.
